Southampton
Council of Faiths
Charity no: 1111962
Southampton Council of Faiths ( SCOF ) was set up in May
2001 to promote understanding between faiths in the city. It
represents the faith community in dialogue with public bodies.
Seven faiths are represented on the council which meets about
eight times a year. Each faith; Baha’i, Buddhist, Christian,
Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism nominates up to five
representatives to the council.
The council discusses issues of mutual concern and recognises the
importance of overcoming ignorance and fear.
SCOF organised a memorial event following 9/11 in September 2001
and a united response to the tragic tsunami in the Pacific Ocean
after Christmas in 2004.
SCOF and SIFL rely on donations for their work. If you would like
